Overview
John joined the Firm in February of 1996 and became a partner in January, 2000. His primary focus is in the corporate/transactional area, with an emphasis on the representation of communications and technology clients. The clients represented by John include cable television operators, communications tower rental companies, radio station owners and operators, paging and wireless communications companies, security alarm monitoring businesses, internet access providers, outdoor advertising companies, commercial printing, packaging and fulfillment companies, and internet service and database companies. The services he has provided to such clients include the choice and formation of business entities, the negotiation, documentation and advice with regard to joint ventures and other business combinations, secured financings, venture capital financings and investments, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and sales and other dispositions of businesses. John also has substantial experience with the private placement of securities, including the drafting of securities filings and private placement memoranda, and with real and personal property leases and other real property matters, IP licenses and other general corporate matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, John had engaged in a general corporate/transactional/real estate practice in Los Angeles at the firm of Carlsmith Ball, LLP, and had also been a member of the corporate/transactional practice group at Partridge, Snow & Hahn, Providence, R.I.
