Lisa graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She attended the Claude Pettit School of Law at Ohio Northern University, graduating in 1976. Lisa became a member of the South Carolina Bar in 1977 and has practiced in Lexington County since 1978. She is a member of the Lexington County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association and has been admitted to practice in the Courts of South Carolina as well as the US District Court and the United States Supreme Court. She practices in the areas of probate, wills, trusts and estate law, as well as real estate and corporate law.

Lisa served as the first female solicitor in Lexington County. Additionally she is a past president of the Historic Lexington Business Association, and has served as the liaison between the Lexington Chamber of Commerce and Central Midlands Council of Governments.

For her leisure time, Lisa enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her husband and children, Anna (who practices law with her) and her son Ted who is a graduate student in mathematics at the University of Virginia.
