Hunter, Smith & Davis, LLP (HSD Law) enjoys a significant multi-state practice in Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky and beyond. The firm actively practices in the areas of Civil Litigation (including Insurance Defense), Corporate, Banking and Commercial Transaction Law, Labor and Employment Law, Healthcare Law, Employee Benefits Law, Utilities Law, Real Estate and Land Use Law, Estate Planning and Taxation Law, Environmental Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (Mediation and Arbitration). All of the firm's attorneys are licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee. In addition, five attorneys are licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the states of Georgia, Florida, Montana, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina and the City of Washington D.C.
The firm's attorneys are active in many professional, civic and charitable endeavors throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia including positions with numerous civic and nonprofit organizations. The firm's attorneys are also active as members and officers of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Northeast Tennessee Young Lawyers Association, the Virginia Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association, and the Kingsport and Washington County, Tennessee Bar Associations.
Hunter, Smith & Davis, LLP's attorneys and staff utilize the firm's advanced technological equipment in serving the firm's clients. This includes an expansive library and individualized desktop access to computerized on-line and CD-ROM research capabilities, the Internet and e-mail. All attorneys engage in continuing legal education programs as well as conducting periodic client seminars. The firm employs a full-time office administrator and a financial administrator along with several paralegals and legal assistants. Hunter, Smith & Davis, LLP (HSD Law) maintains an active summer associate program that is the foundation for its recruitment and hiring of associate attorneys.
