Gene was amazing and quick to take care of my daughter when her friend (whom she was allowing to live in her apartment for free) lied to the police and got her in trouble. I'm relatively new in town and my lawyer is elsewhere. I started perusing the Internet to find a lawyer here in Austin who could help me get a conviction for a Travis County traffic ticket dismissed from my record. I was attracted to the GBA Firm & The Cohen Firm because of the photos of the lawyers. They were dressed in suits and there was an air of sophistication there; just exactly like my idea of how a lawyer should look. It was important to me to have my ticket dismissed and I wanted the person representing me in the courtroom to be formal and respectful towards the judge. I looked at the bios of the lawyers and their credentials were top notch. So I called and Gene Anthes called me back immediately. I called a lot of firms that day, but Gene Anthes impressed me because - when he called me back - he knew the courts. He knew the systems. He was familiar with the judge who would handle my case and he knew how to handle everything. He didn't mind answering all my questions on that phone call. I hung up with him and looked at my notes. I didn't make a decision then; I waited a day or two. The fee for Gene to handle it was a bit higher than the other lawyers. Did I want to spend that amount on a firm like his? Yes, I did. It would be a temporary setback for me and the ticket, if dismissed, would be dismissed forever. I decided that I would spend the money, get the best lawyer I could find, and that way I could put the matter to rest in my mind. Whatever the verdict, I would always know that I hired the best of the best. And I was able to quit worrying and just give the matter to him. It took a while. He gave me his cell phone number and - when I texted him - he responded. And then I got the beautiful message that the ticket was dismissed! RELIEF!
