Overview
Judd is a native of Meridian, Mississippi. He attended Millsaps College where he graduated magna cum laude in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.
Judd attended Baylor University School of Law and graduated in 1991, cum laude. While in law school, Judd received the Naman, Howell, Smith and Lee Scholarship which was a full tuition scholarship. He received the high grade in numerous law school classes and in his third year, Judd received the President’s Award as the outstanding third year student. Judd served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Baylor Law Review.
After graduating from law school, Judd served as a law clerk for the Honorable Emmett R. Cox, United States Court of Appeals - Eleventh Circuit which hears all federal appeals from the federal district courts in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Of the 35,000 or so people who graduate from law school every year, less than 300 of them have the opportunity to clerk for a Federal Appellate Court. While working as a judicial clerk, Judd was responsible for reviewing appellate briefs and summarizing them for Judge Cox as well as drafting opinions for the Court. At the end of his one year clerkship, Judge Cox asked Judd to stay on an extra month to help train the incoming clerks.
In 1992, Judd went to work for the law firm of Jackson Walker in Fort Worth, Texas. The focus of his practice was Railroad litigation including crossing accident cases as well as FELA claims. In January, 1994, Judd passed the Mississippi Bar Exam and joined the firm of Glover, Young, Walton and Phillips, PLLC. In 1995, Judd became a partner in Glover, Young, Walton, Phillips and Tucker, PLLC until 2004. Judd’s primary practice areas were insurance defense, medical malpractice defense and employment related litigation as well as real estate law.
In 2004, Judd and his family moved to The Woodlands where Judd was a Member of Tucrow Management, LLC which owned several car washes and a restaurant. Judd was responsible for the day to day operation of both of those businesses.
In 2008, Judd sold his interest in Tucrow Management, LLC and opened the Tucker Law Firm. Since, 2012, Judd’s focus has been in the practice of Family Law in Montgomery County and surrounding counties.
Judd is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. And, has been named to the Texas Super Lawyers list in 2022.
Judd served as President of the Meridian, Mississippi Rotary Club, the Board of Trustees of the Central United Methodist Church, Secretary of the Lauderdale County Bar Association as well as President of the Montgomery County Bar Association.
Judd is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Texas Family Law Foundation, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists and the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists.
Judd is licensed to practice in Texas and Mississippi. He is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and several United States District Courts in Texas and Mississippi.
