Attorney Russ Hunt, Jr. offers a personalized and unique approach to criminal defense. He takes the time to speak and work with each client individually. Trial History

Russ has been defending the criminally accused since 1994. With 30 years of experience, he has tried dozens of jury trials in Central Texas, in both state and federal courts. He has also tried cases in various locations across the state, such as Hillsboro, San Angelo and Del Rio.

He actively participates in criminal defense associations such as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (ACDLA) and Williamson County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (WCCDLA). From 2006-2007, he held the position of presiding director at ACDLA. Additionally, from 2012-2014, Russ served as a founding vice president of the WCCDLA.

Honors And Awards

Russ is proud to have been selected for inclusion in the prestigious Super Lawyers list. He has been recognized with this honor every year since 2008. In addition, he has been rated the highest possible rating of AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell since 2009, a distinction given by his fellow attorneys.

Continuing Legal Education

Russ stays up to date with his legal skills by attending training seminars and also shares his knowledge as a seminar speaker. He has achieved membership in the esteemed College of the State Bar of Texas due to his extensive participation in criminal law seminars.

Licensed in Texas since 1994, Russ Hunt, Jr. is also authorized to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas since 1995. Additionally, in 1996, he obtained certification to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Furthermore, in 1998, Russ was honored with the designation to practice in the prestigious U.S. Supreme Court.

Hunt hails from Waco, Texas. His father, Russell Hunt, Sr., is a seasoned criminal defense attorney, serving clients in Waco and nearby regions for over four decades.
