Overview
Chris is a criminal trial lawyer born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro while on a soccer scholarship as a Division I student-athlete. He then attended Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was awarded his Juris Doctorate in 2014.
While attending Charlotte School of Law, he was named to the Dean’s List in 2013 and 2014, participated on the Charlotte School of Law Moot Court and Mock Trial teams, received the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Trial Practice, graduated with honors from the selective Charlotte School of Law Advanced Criminal Advocacy Program, and accumulated over 340 hours of pro bono service.
He is a member of the National College of DUI Defense, DUI Defense Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
Since 2018, Chris has been recognized as a rising star in the Texas legal community for his excellence in the courtroom, including but not limited to being named a Super Lawyers Texas Rising Star by Thomson Reuters and one of the Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trials Lawyers Association.
Chris has earned the American Chemical Society (ACS) Forensic Lawyer-Scientist Designation, as recognized by the Chemistry and the Law Division of the ACS, which is the highest form of scientific recognition available for lawyers. Chris has completed training in Forensic Chromatography: Theory & Practice, Forensic Analysis of Solid Drugs, and Forensic Principles of DUID by Axion Labs and the American Chemical Society.

Hired Attorney 2021-2023When I picked up my fourth DUI felony charge, I knew I was in good hands when I came across Chris Denuna. I was going to lose my job if I wasn’t able to get the charge reduced. From the minute I talked to him on the phone about my case, Chris assured me that everything would be alright. He is a lawyer that is professional, honest and always had my best interest. As court dates kept getting pushed back, Chris was able to keep me at peace knowing that I could trust him and the process. He was able to prove the prior DUI’s in a different state would not hold in court. With his determination and patience he was able to reduce my fourth DUI charge to a first offense. Not only was he able to get the charge reduced, he found a way for me to not serve any time, no probation and no interlock device in my vehicle. I would highly recommend Chris and his team to anyone looking for someone they can trust and looking to get the best outcome possible for their case.

Hired Attorney 2019-2021I received my DWI in August of 2019 and Chris was very helpful and confident from the very first call. I immediately hired Chris after reading some of his reviews and I was so glad I did!!! I told him about my case and he immediately made me feel at ease. Everything was done through phone and email which was very convenient for my busy schedule.
