Samuel S. Griffin, III, 58, is co-founder of Griffin & Matthews, attorneys-at-law formed in 1979 with concentrations in litigation and transactional matters. In his over thirty-two (32) years of practice, Sam has engaged in a general civil practice focusing on business related matters, insurance defense litigation, and commercial litigation. He has represented a wide variety of clients with issues related to personal injury, real estate, corporate law, commercial litigation, estate planning and probate, and insurance defense litigation. His client base is made up of publicly traded and privately held businesses and their owners; developers; and, entrepreneurs in a multitude of disciplines. Representative clients include E&P/drilling/downhole technology companies, construction/plumbing/electrical contractors, hotels and hospitality providers, manufacturing/industrial processing companies, commercial/residential development companies, ranching/commercial grower enterprises, technology developers, financial institutions, service companies of multiple types including CPAs, physicians, business/marketing consultants, sales/distribution representatives, etc. Additionally, for over 25 years, he has represented multiple insurance companies and their policy holders by defending claims ranging from wrongful death to property loss.

He serves as a Director of Valves Unlimited, Inc., a specialty valve company catering to the oil & gas refining industry; a Director of Impact Guidance Systems, Inc., a developer of high quality intelligent downhole tools for the drilling/completions and data acquisition aspects for the oil & gas industry; a Director of ResTech, Inc., a multiple disciplinary reservoir evaluation services company specializing in the integration and interrogation of subsurface data used in the upstream oil and gas industry; and a Director of Caymus Energy Fund Offshore, Ltd., a market-neutral equity fund focusing on domestic companies in the energy industry engaged in the exploration and production of oil and gas and other natural resources.
