Overview

Since 1971, Elliott Lawson & Minor P.C. has built a reputation as a professional, trustworthy organization. Our lawyers have a variety of experiences and practice area focuses. We utilize a team approach to most of our cases; as such, our clients get the benefit of skill and experience of the entire firm rather than a single attorney. We will bring the necessary experience to guide clients to a successful resolution of their legal issues.

We are proud of the fact that most of our clients have been with us for a number of years. Additionally, we receive a great deal of referral work from trusted attorneys and firms with whom we have developed relationships. Our firm is composed of attorneys practicing in the Tri-Cities region of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia (Bristol, Tennessee-Virginia; Johnson City and Kingsport, Tennessee; Abingdon, Virginia) from its base in Bristol, a single community forming two cities in two different states. The firm's attorneys live in Virginia and Tennessee and are involved in the social, civic and political life of the region.

Most of the firm's lawyers are admitted to practice in both Tennessee and Virginia state courts. The firm handles cases in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia in both state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. EL&M attorneys also have extensive experience practicing before state and federal administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Most of the firm's clients are businesses with headquarters in the region, government organizations in Tennessee and Virginia, and national and international firms with regional interests. The firm's attorneys are experienced in litigation, consultation, and other representation in commercial, contract, construction, labor, employment, civil rights, municipal and environmental matters. The firm also handles substantial transactional matters such as mergers, acquisitions, buy-sell agreements and other business deals. As experienced Bristol commercial litigation attorneys, we provide the high level of professionalism and expertise that our clients deserve.
