Overview
Maheisha “Keisha” Adams was born and raised in Oklahoma. Keisha attended Oklahoma State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Relations and Child Development. She has always been drawn to working with vulnerable communities, which ultimately compelled her to join the U.S. Peace Corps, where she served as a Public Health Volunteer in Kenya.
As she continued her human rights advocacy work, Keisha came to understand the importance of strong laws and policies. She then worked for an international NGO based in Kenya focused on refugees and forced migration issues across Africa. This experience deepened her commitment to serving vulnerable populations and navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks on their behalf.
Prior to joining the Farr Law Firm in 2026, Keisha received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. She is admitted to practice in Virginia and California (though she does not actively practice in CA) and is currently pursuing admission to the DC and Maryland Bars.
Keisha’s interest in estate planning and elder law comes from helping her family care for her aging grandmother and disabled aunts. She currently volunteers with Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village, a DC nonprofit that supports seniors aging in place, and with Legal Counsel for the Elderly, where she assists the Project HELP team with basic estate planning for seniors who are unable to leave their homes.
Outside of work, Keisha loves reading, hiking, and international travel.
