I came across Shirley Chim when I needed her the most.  I had an emergency custody hearing.  Shirley was able to meet with me almost immediately and was able to take my case.  As is the situation a lot of the time, I had many things to overcome.  The law firm is a close knit team which allows them to work together in formulating a plan to move forward.  Ms. Chim truly cares about her clients which is evident by her checking to see how everyone is doing.  It does not matter if it is the weekend, if she needs to work on your case, she does it without hesitation.   I find that Ms. Chim and her law firm have been respectful and diligent in their handling of my case. I value the hard work and dedication she has given.

Mr. Davis represented my family in a very complicated and emotional CPS/custody case. Mr. Davis was not only an expert in the legalities but he has also earned an excellent reputation with the Judges, caseworkers and other attorneys. His ability to work with the other parties, as well as navigate the ubiquitous and harrowing issues was invaluable. I hired Theseus for a family law case, and I would not hire him again. While he ultimately completed the job, I strongly believe we wouldn’t have reached this outcome without my own efforts in negotiating with my co-parent, ensuring the agreement’s success, and keeping everything on track. Theseus was extremely disorganized and lacked attention to detail. I repeatedly had to follow up for next steps and ask for clarification due to vague and unclear emails. More frustratingly, I had to redraft entire documents—ones he was charging me for—because they were riddled with errors, poorly formatted, and lacked basic accuracy. If I hadn’t taken the lead in proofreading and revising, we would have submitted documents full of discrepancies. Throughout the process, I felt more like his assistant than his client. He also seemed to approach my case as though he was balancing interests between both parties rather than advocating for mine, despite representing me. His condescending tone only made the experience more frustrating. Given my experience, I cannot recommend his services and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for competent representation.

Theseus did a great job - he worked with me, and protected my interests at all times. He was responsive, and achieved all timelines laid out through the process of my case - and did so affordably. Theseus helped make a terrible situation less so with his measured approach and adherence to our plan. I'm very thankful for him and his staff.
