Building Families with Assisted Reproduction Technology

For families that choose to grow through Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART), Christina T. Christina is a great lawyer who was there for us the whole way! She is brilliant, compassionate, professional, efficient, and direct. She helped us with our complex private adoption and were so happy and blessed to have chosen her as our adoption lawyer. Even with the COVID-19 situation going on right now, she was there for us every step of the way. Thank you Christina for all that you do, you will always have a special place in our hearts!

Early 2021 I contacted two law firms specializing in adoptions. I was told it would be an arduous, costly and lengthy process because I was adopting a noncitizen adult. A friend of mine suggested I contact Christina Sherman and am I happy I did. I spoke with Christina on August 26, 2021 and became the mother of my adult son on October 8, 2021. In matters of adoptions I found Christina to be very knowledgeable capable, efficient, compassionate, caring, patient and just plain human. Throw into the mix a legal assistant who in my opinion, could probably qualify as an angel and you have the Christina Sherman LLC firm. Bertha 2021

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
