Kennewick Criminal Defense Lawyer
Overview
Ryan Swinburnson grew up in Northwest Washington. He went to Central Washington University were he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996. In 1999 he graduated from Willamette University College of Law. Ryan first passed the Oregon State Bar. Directly out of law school he worked for a mid-size law firm in Albany, Oregon. He then passed the Washington State Bar and moved to the Tri-Cities. He is the only member of his firm that holds an Oregon and Washington bar license. He served in the Benton County Prosecutor's Office for two years. He started his own practice in 2002, where he prosecuted for the City of Pasco and did criminal defense in Benton County. Contemporaneously, he also cultivated a personal injury practice. Morrow County retained his services as County Counsel in 2006, a position he currently holds. As a personal injury attorney, he vigorously represents those who have been harmed or injured and seeks full compensation for their injuries. As a criminal defense attorney, he advocates zealously for his clients and readily goes to trial. Over the last fifteen years, he has successfully obtained numerous dismissals, not-guilty verdicts and acquittals and is a proven trial attorney. Perhaps, most refreshing is his ability to communicate and relate with his clients but still aggressively and effectively represent his clients in the courtroom. When he is not at work, he actively coaches his children's athletic teams and is an avid golfer.About Ryan Michael Swinburnson

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
