Verified ClientHired Attorney 2019Review of Attorney Bruce A. Lanser – best decision I could have made. Attorney Lanser was highly recommended to me by another attorney. I was looking for advice on credit card debt consolidation. After an initial meeting, during which Bruce was thorough in his questions and put me completely at ease, it was decided that filing bankruptcy was my best and most cost-effective course of action. During the initial consultation, which was well worth the $200.00 fee, Bruce met my expectations of professionalism, knowledge and efficiency. In addition, his team was equally professional, knowledgeable, and efficient during all my interactions with them. Bruce was always straight to the point in answering any questions I had for him throughout the process and was very clear on the expectations he had for me in gathering and preparing the documents he needed to file my bankruptcy. He constantly kept me apprised of the status of my case with detailed communications. The entire process was done smoothly and with great thoroughness by Bruce and his team. I was well prepared for my meeting with the Bankruptcy Trustee and that preparation made me feel very much at ease in responding to the Trustee’s questions. The process was concluded in a very timely fashion and very much to my satisfaction. I am deeply grateful to Bruce and his staff for all their work and support. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent attorney and team.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2018I started my road to filing bankruptcy with a different attorney. Due to some complications with my filing, I was referred to Bruce Lanser's office. During our first meeting he layed out all options and pathways, and we began the process. I immediately felt empowered. Immediately after retaining Bruce as my attorney, and sharing with my creditors that I was filing bankruptcy, Bruce's office handled all of their calls and correspondence. When questions arose, he handled them. I find Bruce to be very straighforward and yet kind and encouraging. Each meeting is purposeful and yet personable. Bruce answers emails quickly, offers up all the answers/possibilities to your questions, and has a professional support staff. This is a man who values both your time and his own. His billing is accurate and reasonable. Overall, for such a stressful and overwhelming road that bankruptcy can be, I always knew I was in good hands. I knew that Bruce had years of experience as both attorney and trustee, and that he is well respected in the legal community. I knew there was a positive end in sight. I'm grateful to Bruce Lanser for helping me through what felt like the toughest time in my life. I highly recommend him for anyone in need of bankruptcy assistance.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
