Overview
F. Tim McCollum has over thirty years of experience in legal practice and owning and operating private businesses. As a lawyer, Tim has represented clients with advice and counsel as well as representation in the defense or prosecution of legal claims in the court system.
His breadth of experience extends from estate planning and business transactions to civil litigation, representing individual, business, and government clients, as well as municipal and state agencies in complex governmental regulatory development and interpretation. Tim has also served as an advisor to the Central Alabama Aging Consortium, teaching numerous seminars on the different aspects of estate planning. His membership in WealthCounsel, a nationally respected community of estate planning attorneys, enables the firm's access to a collaborative professional network, continuing education, and the ability to deliver thoughtful and customized estate planning counsel with efficiency and precision.
Tim has also maintained an extensive litigation and trial practice throughout his career, representing clients in state courts, including before the Alabama Supreme Court, and federal courts, including the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Representative cases have included business contract disputes, wrongful death litigation, landowner disputes, civil rights litigation, guardianships, business formation and dissolution (for-profit and non-profit), and general civil litigation.
Tim has been married to Carrie Ellis McCollum since February 16, 2002, and is the father of one son, Jay (May 6, 1993 – December 31, 2012). They reside in Pike Road, Alabama, and are members of First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.
