Lee Holland was amazing. I lucked up and was able to slide into a cancellation appointment at the last minute. Me waiting until the last minute didn’t matter for him. He did Ana maxing job and was wonderful.

First a little back story, i fought for my daughter 2 times the first time I used another attorney. I left the court feeling angry, frustrated, and cheated. I'm not going to say who my 1st lawyer was but I had to acquire lee's services rapidly due to circumstances, so he did not have a lot of time to prepare for me or my case it did not matter. He was all over the case from the word go. With the immediate outcome in my favor he begin to work on the long term goal. He was very diligent, the thing I appreciated the most was that he corresponded with me regularly, he would call me, and if i needed to call him i did not wait days to hear back or not hear back at all. Lets talk courtroom, do not let Lee's softly spoken demeaner fool you. He was a pit-bull in the courtroom, there were moments i actually felt bad for the other side. The opposing attorney even tried sliding a lot of info into the chain of custody the night before we went to court, it did not matter once again. I was surprised when the information was introduced into the court the next morning, Lee informed me they put it in last minute but not to worry once again he was prepared, and then he went to work all over them. Lee navigated the court system and courtroom with ease, and made the 2nd experience for me as easy as he could never sugar coating anything and letting me know exactly where we stood on any given day. I would recommend him to anyone I know!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
