Attorney Information
Overview
Family law matters often involve more than legal issues; they touch the most personal parts of our lives. At Donaldson Stewart, PC, I understand that these cases require more than just technical knowledge; they require empathy, strategy, and unwavering advocacy. My goal is to guide clients through challenging transitions with clarity and confidence, protecting what matters most: their family and their future.
A Career Built on Versatility and Dedication
Before joining Donaldson Stewart, PC, I gained extensive experience in diverse areas of law, including real estate litigation, civil defense, and regulatory law. I represented property owners, buyers, and investors in complex real estate disputes, served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Mesa, and defended Maricopa County in high-stakes civil litigation. Earlier in my career, I practiced criminal defense and personal injury law, honing my skills as a persuasive negotiator and litigator. These experiences taught me to think strategically, advocate fearlessly, and remain client-focused at every step.
A Personal Connection to Family Law
I don’t just practice family law; I understand it on a personal level. As someone who has been through divorce and is now a single mother raising two young daughters, I know firsthand the emotional and practical challenges my clients face. This experience allows me to approach each case with empathy, practical insight, and a commitment to helping my clients achieve stability and peace of mind for themselves and their children.
Mediation First. Litigation When Necessary.
I believe in resolving disputes amicably whenever possible because it often leads to better outcomes for families. However, when litigation is necessary, I am a strong and prepared advocate with years of courtroom experience. My background in complex civil litigation and motion practice ensures that I bring skill, tenacity, and thorough preparation to every case.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
