Hired Attorney 2022-2026I have spent the last 4 years with Jeff Jacobson of Jacobson law firm working on a case and he has done an outstanding job for me. He was always prepared, on top of every meeting with the judge. On time with every piece of paperwork which had to be submitted and it was always done right. He got the result we wanted. It was perfect. It is mind boggling to me how detailed the litigation process is and how he did everything right. He is a superb litigator. You cannot do better.

Hired Attorney 2021I'm very disappointed with my representation from this law firm. I feel that it was a waste of time and money. The service was good up until the moment the case was over and the money stopped coming in. From that point on, I couldn't get Jeff to return a text or a phone call. It took me over 3 months to finally get a "response." I was very specific in my text and voice messages that I just wanted a quick follow-up phone call to discuss my options moving forward. But once he was done fulfilling his contractual obligation, he was no longer interested in my situation or anything that I had to say. I think the thousands of dollars I paid him to represent me should entitle me to a quick 5 minute follow-up phone call, but he didn't feel the same way. Needless to say, I felt disappointed and betrayed. Even with a fast food restaurant they'll still deal with you after they've taken your money, but unfortunately that's not the case with the Jacobson Law Firm.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
