Hired Law firm 2024-2025PLEASE steer clear of this Attorney! Her staff,Dakota and Ms Horn are very sweet. However,Ms Neely is a wolf in aheeps clothes in my opinion. She started off talking about God,prayer and Scripture but things quickly changed. She took a puff of her vape in court when we went the 1st time; didn't ask me any questions about the evidence I presented to her or things we briefly discussed in court when we went the 2nd time; told the judge she'd complete the divorce paperwork but didn't so he did; charged me for seeing me 7 times when we only met 5; told me she'd file a motion to modify order after I set up payment on my balance but just emailed me this morning and changed her mind stating she needed full payment before she'd do anything. My child is coming home from visits with my ex saying she wants to kill herself and is now wetting the bed which she was doing BEFORE we went to court the 2nd time (after starting to visit dad)but Attorney Neely said NOTHING. She seems all about money NOT about her clients and their families. Choose wisely - PLEASE.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
