Hired Attorney 2023-2024I would not EVER recommend Betsy Hickman, NOT only did she use her profession to release confidentiality from her practice to another law practice without release of amendment from client, she also diminished entire retainer speaking with others NOT On clients behalf, accused client of being negative, accused the client on multiple things when evidence was in plain site, went against multiple regulations as an attorney and also provided false information on court documents(which is also Perjury under court of law) and went against Confidentiality between Client and Privacy with Client and against a business owner and other attorney office which goes against Ark. R. Prof. Cond. 1.6(also do have evidence of Ark. R. Prof. Cond. 1.6) This will be going up to another Entity for Investigation of Proper Use of Laws as well as Proper use of Client Confidentiality between Client and Law Firm, that was one of the main reasons she was terminated from Client to Law Firm and why her professionalism needs to be questioned and investigated per what she has done to the Client and Attorney regulations, due to the enlightenment of this new evidence, It will be taken further to a federal issue.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
