Attorney Information
Overview
A native of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Clinton DeWitt lives in Little Rock with his wife and four children. He attended Ouachita Baptist University, where he played football (GAC Champs 2011) and was a ROTC cadet. Prior to attending law school, Clinton completed U.S. Army Officer Basic Training as a Military Intelligence Officer at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Clinton is now a Captain in U.S. Army, Inactive Ready Reserve.
Clinton earned his law degree as Magna cum laude with high honors (top 10%) from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in December 2015. Clinton then passed the bar in February 2016 and became a licensed attorney in Arkansas. He then passed the Alabama bar exam in July 2016 and became a licensed attorney in Alabama. Clinton worked for several years as a tall-building lawyer defending Arkansas medical care providers in cases of medical malpractice. During this time, Clinton second-chaired many jury trials with one of the greatest trial lawyers in Arkansas history, Paul McNeill. Clinton owes much of his success as a trial lawyer to Mr. McNeill and the other lawyers that have mentored him over his legal career.
Along with significant experience as an Arkansas Trial Lawyer in civil cases, Clinton has maintained an Arkansas Criminal Defense practice his entire legal career. Clinton’s true passion has always been in serving the citizens of Arkansas in Arkansas courts. Clinton has seen the criminal legal system affect friends, family, teammates, colleagues, and everyone in between. Everyone accused of a crime in Arkansas is entitled to a vigorous legal defense. There’s no time more important to have an Arkansas lawyer on your side than when facing criminal charges or any litigation in Arkansas. Clinton also represents injured Arkansans and those with a loved one that died because of someone else's negligence. Clinton is a member of the Arkansas Associate of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Clinton has been selected as a Top 40 under 40 trial attorney by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Clinton has also successfully represented many liscensed professionals and other licensed practitioners in defending their right to work in their field. Every licensed professional has a regulatory body that oversees license approvals for new practitioners and disciplinary actions for professional misconduct. The administrative licensing boards in Arkansas have the power to suspend, revoke, or discipline a person’s license, which can have a devastating impact on a person’s career and livelihood. Clinton will work to give you an honest chance of getting through your case and ensure you continue working in your field.Clinton serves his clients by developing each case with great care and detail to best prepare for trial. Effective trial preparation results in the best resolution for every case, whether that be a negotiated deal or submission of the case to a jury or judge. Clinton takes pride in his work and says there is nothing better than diving into research and crafting strategies for his clients. He works hard to figure out the best way to use the law for his clients in each of his unique cases. Clinton does not take well to failure, which drives him to always work his absolute hardest in all his cases.
