Hired Attorney 2024-2025I'm almost 40 and I dont really understand how insurance works. When I got into an accident, a friend recommended Elizabeth. She was very quick in responding and getting things going. My husband and I didnt agree with each other when it came hiring Elizabeth or even moving forward with the suit. Elizabeth was very supportive and understanding and also transparent. I appreciated her time and effort and she was always there to answer any questions I had. I remember there was a form I had to fill out when I went to physical therapy. There were all these options about insurances and co-pays and medical pay. I didn't know the difference! I took a picture of everything and like a child needing help with her homework, I texted Elizabeth in the early morning hours and she responded promptly and guided me through it. She never shamed me, she never made me feel dumb. She always kept me in the loop and letting me know how things are going or what the status was. I trusted her fully with never having met her but because she came highly recommended, I knew I was in good hands. And I was right. She fought for all that I was entitled to and I am so grateful to have hired her. She made the entire process so easy. I truly had such a great experience with Elizabeth. I hope I never get into another accident again, but if I do, I absolutely know, without a doubt, who to call immediately. She is the best there is!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
