Attorney Information
Overview
Ginny T. Hsiao, an esteemed immigration and family law attorney, has devoted over two decades to her bespoke practice, GTH Law Group. Based in Arcadia, California, Ginny’s practice specializes in the intricate fusion of immigration law, family law, and estate planning. She skillfully handles pre- and post-nuptial agreements, spousal and child support, child custody, family and employment-based immigration, property division, and asset preservation. This extensive expertise has earned her recognition by Southern California Super Lawyers and being a recipient of the 2018 and 2019 Women in Law Awards by Lawyer Monthly. Additionally, she was voted by her peers for the Pasadena Magazine Top Lawyers list for over ten consecutive years.
Her education includes a J.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and bachelor's degrees in political science and psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Professionally, Ginny has been admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the Supreme Court of California, and the U.S. District Court for Central District of California.
Ginny's dedication extends far beyond her practice; she is committed to serving the community and her profession. She has held several notable positions, including current President of the San Gabriel Valley Bar Association, past Diversity and Inclusion Chair for the Asia Pacific Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA APAC), and former Diversity Fellow for the American Bar Association (ABA). Currently, Ginny serves on the APAC Conference and Governance committees and has volunteered as a Judge Pro Tem in Los Angeles County.
Her tireless advocacy for under-represented members of the legal field has been a hallmark of her career. Ginny has been a part of ABA's Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council and AILA National's Ethics committee. Furthermore, she served on the Diversity and Inclusion Board of the ABA GP/Solo Division and co-chaired DMV liaison for the AILA Southern California Chapter.
Outside the courtroom, Ginny is deeply involved in community efforts, especially those aimed at nurturing the next generation of advocates. She chairs both the Lion’s Club Student Speakers Contest and the Rotary Club’s Four-Way Test Speech Competition. These programs provide high school students with the opportunity to develop their debate skills and win college scholarship prizes through competition.
Ginny’s devotion to advocacy, legal acumen, and community involvement position her as a crucial ally to her clients and the wider community. Whether it involves navigating the complexities of child custody or empowering aspiring advocates, her enthusiasm and commitment never waver.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
