Overview
For more than four decades, Elaine Ryzak Fraser has represented individuals and families throughout San Mateo County and the surrounding communities in divorce and family law matters, combining experienced courtroom advocacy with skilled mediation and Collaborative Divorce designed to achieve practical, lasting resolutions tailored to their unique circumstances.
She is an active member of Collaborative Practice of San Mateo County (CPSMC) where she serves as Chair of its Public Education Committee and served two years as Co-Chair of the organization. Her extensive litigation, mediation, and Collaborative Divorce experience allows her to guide clients through divorce and family law matters with practical judgment, strategic advocacy, and a focus on achieving lasting resolutions.
In addition to her membership and participation in Collaborative Practice of San Mateo County, Ms. Fraser assists the San Mateo County Superior Court by serving on the Family Law Advisory Board, the Alternative Dispute Resolution MAP Oversight Committee, and the Judicial Arbitration Panel and Advisory Committee. She volunteers as a mediator for the San Mateo County Superior Court for family law and also volunteers to assist the family law judges at status conferences at court. More recently, she was appointed as a Settlement Officer for the San Mateo County Family Court.
Ms. Fraser was president of the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association in 2007. In 2024 she completed her Certification for Mediation and Conflict Management from the Harvard Law School program. In 2026, Ms. Fraser was appointed by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Law Library of San Mateo County.
Ms. Fraser received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1984.
