Attorney Information
Overview
Having spent over 30 years working in the legal field, I’ve learned the operational and client side of practicing law. That is why I choose to break away from cookie-cutter legal answers. Utilizing my in-depth understanding of business and real estate transactional and litigation needs, I guide clients to unique, practical and customized legal solutions. Drawing from a range of personal and professional experiences, I put clients first and give them individualized attention. Acting as their general counsel, I assist clients in their real estate, business, and contract needs.
My professional practice has given me a broad scope of experience to be able to assist clients in a variety of real estate and business transactional matters, ensuring the end result meets their business and personal goals. Working with clients on matters ranging from buying and selling real estate, to lease negotiation and preparation, to operational and entitlement issues, to business formation and operational procedures, to financing and dispute resolution. Having run a small business myself, I tie that personal experience with my legal knowledge to work with clients through their business and personal needs.
It has been a unique joy representing owners and operators of mobile/manufactured home communities. Handling pretty much all aspects of a client's life cycle with a park - from purchasing and selling parks, to handling all tenant related matters (leases, rules and regulations, notices, and residency documents), to explaining and training clients and their managers on the unique requirements applicable to mobile/manufactured home communities, and to handling litigation matters like evictions, forcible detainers, contractual disputes and land use regulations. Understanding the nuances of the numerous laws applicable to mobile/manufactured home communities allows me to assist clients in their daily compliance obligations.
A native of San Diego, I spend time with my daughter, cats and dog. I'm often seen enjoying the outdoor activities San Diego has to offer, and in the winter, always find time to hit the slopes in Mammoth!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
