I was introduced to Ken Kahn through one of my Soldiers, whom he had helped successfully get a DUI dismissed. I never imagined I would one day need his help with my own case, but when the time came, I reached out to him without hesitation. After an initial phone call, we met in person, and I was able to explain my situation. As a service member, husband, and provider, I was deeply concerned about both my career and my family. Ken reassured me that if I followed his guidance, he would do everything possible to protect my future and minimize the consequences. Ken represented me exceptionally well in court. He worked to have my case moved into military/veterans court, where I was facing the possibility of a lengthy diversion program with multiple court appearances over one to two years. Because we communicated openly, trusted each other, and worked together as a team, Ken was able to convince the court to go even further and ultimately dismiss the case altogether. I am beyond grateful for what Ken did—for me, my family, and my military career. If you’re a veteran or active-duty service member and find yourself in legal trouble, don’t waste time looking elsewhere. Talk to Ken Kahn.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
