Overview

I'll help you with every aspect of your workers' compensation case with compassion and understanding. You can reach me anytime.

  • You’re hurt at work, and the workers’ compensation system is confusing. Many employers are not helpful, and some employers are downright rude. I’ll help you file the Application for Adjudication of claim immediately, and I’ll handle all the paperwork.

  • You need medical treatment, and locating a doctor and scheduling an appointment are difficult. On top of that, even after you get a primary treating physician (PTP), your treatment and medications are being denied. I’ll help you obtain a good doctor, set an appointment, and obtain treatment and medications. I’ll take on the burden of navigating the bewildering world of Utilization Review and Independent Medical Review. I’ll defend you against the Panel Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), and I’ll ensure you receive the maximum amount of permanent disability (PD).

  • Maybe you can’t work and the insurance company refuses to pay wage loss or temporary disability (TD). You have no idea how to force them to pay. I’ll make them pay up.

  • The insurance company and their defense attorney want to take your deposition. You have no idea how to make sure they don’t take advantage of you. I’ll defend you at deposition and make sure you are protected.

  • If your claim is denied, you likely don’t know where to turn and you’re frustrated. I understand the difficulties in getting denied claims approved. Insurance companies and defense attorneys will conjure any reason under the sun to deny your claim. I’ll make sure they don’t stand a chance.

  • You may have seen something about the Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit Voucher (SJDB), but you have no idea if you are entitled. The SJDB Voucher provides up to $6,000 for job retraining. The State of California also offers another $5,000 for miscellaneous expenses. I’ll determine if you are entitled to the Voucher, and I’ll make sure the insurance company issues it.

  • You’re confused about the different settlement options, including whether you should settle by lump-sum Compromise & Release (C&R) or via Stipulations with Request for Award (Stips) with open future medical care. I help you understand the differences so you can make the best choice for you and your family.

  • The bottom line is that I’ll fight for your rights, and I’ll make sure you receive the maximum benefits that you are entitled to. No fee until your case is settled.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
