    Consulted Attorney 2019
Have been trying to get hold of Mr. Brian Cuttone for the past several months. I have left several voice mails and sent him emails with no response from him. it was clear that he was avoiding me. His assistant kept telling me that he is at court or in trial. The Assistant instructed me to leave him voice message and he will call. Well, that never happened. After months, finally spoke to him over the phone, and I was shocked how a lawyer can be so rude and unprofessional least to say. He called me all kind of names and lied to me regarding the case he is handling. The last phone conversation on December 10th 2019, ended by him calling me pathetic, crazy and F....U. I could not believe that he said that to me, and when I asked him what did you call me Mr. Cuttone, with no shame he replied "Are you deaf Mr...., go F...urself" I am shocked that this person can be allowed to practice as a lawyer and be so disrespectful to people in the state of California. There was no option to give him zero star, otherwise he deserves nothing.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
