The human resource management and compliance side of his practice includes risk mitigation and preventative counseling and training; performance management and discipline guidance; employment contracts; wage and hour audits; workplace investigations; and formulating legally compliant policies and procedures pertaining to a wide variety of areas such as recruitment, onboarding, wage and hour practices, leaves of absence, accommodation, job descriptions, reductions in force, workplace safety, and protection of confidential information and intellectual property. Mr. Donner also has experience assisting employers with legal issues that can arise with the selling or buying of a business.
Mr. Donner also dedicates a substantial amount of his practice to defending entities and individuals in a wide variety of employment and business litigation matters, including class action and PAGA representative lawsuits. Mr. Donner has extensive experience with claims concerning unfair competition, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, breach of contract, intellectual property infringement, and wage and hour issues such as claims for unpaid overtime, off-the-clock work, meal period and rest break violations, misclassification, unreimbursed expenses, wage statement violations, and associated penalties.
