Hired Law firm 2023-2024Jeff Kent was able to get the Dustrict Attorney to drop all charges against me. He's the best, if you ever need an attorney, call Jeff Kent!

Hired Law firm 2023Jeff was awesome throughout the entire process. His reputation, knowledge and the connections he has developed during his tenured career led to a successful outcome for us. Thank you Jeff!

Hired Law firm 2019-2020I called on Jeffrey Kent to inquire about defending my son who had been charged with assault on a minor, which to our mind was a great overstatement for a family scuffle. The name of the charge makes it sound horrible. At our first meeting Jeff put it in perspective, and was able to speak with my son in a calm reassuring but realistic manner, and best of all, to listen attentively and with great understanding. This went a long way to give us confidence. Further, his follow through with the details of the case and reduction of the charge to simple battery was most gratifying. We found Mr. Kent to be very professional, knowledgeable, a great listener and negotiator. It is without hesitation that I highly recommend The Kent Law Firm.

Hired Law firm 2019I contacted Jeff Kent when we found out that our son was looking at some serious time. I felt so nervous because our son had a back ground that we were not totally aware of all the details. Jeff was kind, calm and made it easy to understand. It was a hard time but Jeff gave us hope and it turned out our son could be home for his 21st birthday. Thank you so much!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
