Highland Personal Injury Law Firm
Overview
For over 25 years, the Law Offices of R. Steven Peters, Inc. has been representing the needs of Southern Californians involved in injury accidents.
Our mission is to assure complete client satisfaction, from the initial client consultation through the resolution of your case. We are committed to providing personal attention to each client. Each member of the firm is committed to providing the highest level of personal service, and the highest quality of legal representation. The firm utilizes cutting edge computer technology and is supported by a staff of dedicated paralegals with many years of training and experience in personal injury litigation. One of our experienced trial attorneys and at least two paralegals are assigned to each client, providing professional representation and accountability.
We have always been committed to using the most advanced technology available to serve our clients needs. However, we have insisted on striking the balance between technology and personal contact.
We are able to implement litigation support through the use of our computer network, but we never let computers do the thinking for us.
Our commitment to our clients is further evidenced by our policy to promptly return all client calls. We also encourage attorney client meetings. It is our office policy to return every client call in a timely manner.
The firm's commitment to assuring complete client satisfaction has resulted in an overwhelming majority of cases being referred to the firm by our previous clients.
We generally represent our clients on a contingent fee basis. Under that arrangement, there is no fee, unless and until there is a recovery. IF WE RECOVER NOTHING, THEN THERE IS NO FEE AND NO COSTS. We advance all costs on the cases and do not expect repayment unless and until there is a recovery.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
