Attorney Information
Overview
Mr. Hunt is the Founding Partner of Hunt Hunt & Winterbottom LLP. He is a business litigation attorney and entrepreneur who brings an interdisciplinary approach to legal practice, helping clients resolve disputes strategically and identify leverage points in their cases and their organizations.
Mr. Hunt serves as a strategic advisor to business owners facing complex challenges. His approach emphasizes early case assessment, cost-benefit analysis, and creative problem-solving to achieve favorable outcomes—whether through negotiation, mediation, or litigation. He works closely with clients to understand their business objectives and develop legal strategies congruent with those goals.
Mr. Hunt’s litigation practice focuses on high-stakes business disputes, including breach of contract claims, breach of fiduciary duty allegations, partnership, shareholder, and LLC-member disputes, “bet the company” litigation, and claims arising under California’s Unfair Competition Law and False Advertising Law. He represents executives and other personnel in a variety of matters including regarding employment agreements, non-compete, non-disclosure, and confidentiality obligations, as well as responding to allegations of misconduct. He also has experience resolving disputes between landlords and tenants in both commercial and residential settings, and drafting and negotiating settlement agreements for all types of civil disputes.
Mr. Hunt is a self-taught programmer who leverages technology to enhance his practice and deliver efficient, cost-effective representation.
Mr. Hunt founded the firm in 2021 as a solo litigator after practicing at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Schilling Law Group, PC. In the years since, he has scaled the practice from a solo operation into a full-service business law firm with partners specializing in corporate transactions and real estate.
Mr. Hunt received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy and Editor of the Harvard Business Law Review. Prior to law school, Mr. Hunt graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Irvine, where he received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Research and the Harry Eckstein Award for Outstanding Honors Thesis.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
