Overview
Hilary Rosenthal is an Associate at Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, LLP.
Hilary received her law degree from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University. While at Columbia Law, Hilary was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a semifinalist in the Harlan Fiske Stone Moot Court competition. She served as Executive Articles Editor on the Columbia Human Rights Law Review and as a member of the Mediation Clinic, where she mediated legal disputes in New York City and led courses on international conflict resolution at the United Nations and in Tokyo, Japan.
While at Brown University, Hilary worked as an editor on the campus newspaper and was a disc jockey and music director for the radio station WBRU-FM. Before law school, Hilary served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay.
A member of the California bar, Hilary has authored articles and op-eds that have appeared in the Columbia Human Rights Law Review, The Washington Post, and the Take Care blog, which collected the analysis of attorneys and scholars on threats to the rule of law during the presidency of Donald Trump.
Before joining Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, LLP, Hilary completed a clerkship for the Honorable J. Clifford Wallace of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to her clerkship, Hilary was a Staff Attorney at the ACLU of Hawai'i and the Leonard Sandler Fellow at Human Rights Watch.
When Hilary is not lawyering, she enjoys photography, hiking, and surfing.
