Overview

Brian Fleischer is the managing shareholder of the Marin office of Sassano and Fleischer. He joined the firm in 2000 and has been a shareholder since 2005. His practice involves complex workers' compensation litigation, exclusively representing defendants since 2001. He represents a wide range of employers as well as third party administrators on behalf of self insured companies and the Self Insurer's Security Fund, insurance carriers and public entities, such as the Superior Courts in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa and Santa Clara. A significant part of his practice involves litigation concerning residential employee and independent contractor claims and asbestos defense. He appears regularly at offices of the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Stockton, Sacramento, Santa Rosa and Salinas. He has presented numerous client training seminars on workers' compensation developments.

Mr. Fleischer is actively involved in pro bono transactional services for physicians who contract with the Marin County Department of Health and Social Services, Vacaville State Prison and California Medical Facility and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Juvenile Justice.

Mr. Fleischer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Arizona in 1990 and received his Juris Doctorate degree from John F. Kennedy School of Law in 2000. Prior to law school, Mr. Fleischer worked for several insurance carriers and claims administrators for 8½ years as a claims examiner and supervisor. Mr. Fleischer is certified as a legal specialist in Workers' Compensation law by the State Bar of California. Mr. Fleischer is fluent (read, speak & write) in Spanish. Mr. Fleischer is also an accomplished drummer and has numerous avocations, including scuba diving, underwater photography and golf.
