Verified ClientHired Law firm 2017-2019You absolutely must call Steffeny Holtz first if you find yourself caught up in some unfortunate legal situation. My child was facing years mostly for being with the wrong people at the wrong time. As a Father, my entire being sank when I first got that late night call. All I knew was I had to help my baby, try to make the best decisions I possibly could and get the best advice I could find. Steffeny Holtz not only helped us to understand and navigate the criminal justice system, she made sure the courts knew my baby was a good person and deserved a second chance. The tons of pictures and arguments her team put together took care of my baby. I know for a fact the other defendants in the case piggy backed on Steffeny’s arguments and got some of their own charges reduced and some of them dismissed. I’m speaking to you as a Father. Forget hesitating…I would run to Steffeny Holtz for help.

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2017-2019Attorney Steffeny Holtz has simply done extraordinary work for us at Calvary Chapel Echo Park. I say “for us” because we are a close-knit spiritual family here. Being an inner-city fellowship we get our share of challenges that need good legal representation and I can finally say we have it. While I certainly am not an exhaustive resource on attorney references, I’ve met and interviewed a number of them with several of our congregants. Attorney Steffeny is the only one thus far I’ve liked and can recommend. We’ve used Attorney Holtz on two separate occasions and the results have been very favorable: (1) Not guilty and (2) Probation; and both cases were up against many years in prison. Attorney Holtz is very detailed and thorough. I know this from observing her in the courtroom and also walking through every hearing w/ one of my congregants that she represented. She also met w/ us numerous times to make sure we understood everything. And don’t let her friendly demeanor fool you when you meet her; she is an aggressive advocate in the courtroom. Anytime we need an attorney on any kind of criminal case, Ms. Holtz will be the person that represents us. David Higa Senior Pastor Calvary Chapel Echo Park

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
