Attorney Information
Overview
Along with Kaveh Elihu, Mr. Kahn is currently a managing partner with Employee Justice Legal Group.
Mr. Kahn graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2008, and soon thereafter began his career as a Plaintiffs’ employment law litigator. Prior to law school and beginning his practice as an attorney, Mr. Kahn acquired his Master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University in 2005, intending to use his psychological background for the benefit of his many future clients as an attorney. Since becoming an attorney, Mr. Kahn’s practice has been primarily centered in employment law, but also includes business litigation, contract formation, intellectual property, and business formation and structure. He also routinely performs pro bono work for a variety of destitute clients who need his assistance. Mr. Kahn is experienced in all matters of litigation including individual actions, class actions, contract formation, law and motion, depositions, negotiations, mediation, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, trial, and appeals.
Mr. Kahn is currently admitted to practice in all California State Courts, the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Central District Federal Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. He is also currently a member of a variety of professional legal organizations including the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Consumer Advocate Attorneys of Los Angeles, and California Employment Lawyers Association, among others. Such admissions and associations provide Mr. Kahn the opportunity to practice law in a large geographic area. Since 2009, Mr. Kahn has been an active Plaintiff’s litigator in the counties of San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Kern, Sonoma, and Contra Costa. He has also appeared Pro Hac Vice in cases venued in the states of Arizona and North Carolina, been named as class counsel in multiple class action litigations, and been an attorney of record on a number of published California appellate decisions.
For more than a decade, Mr. Kahn has successfully prosecuted his client’s claims up through final verdict and even appeal, while also acquiring tens of millions of dollars in settlements for the benefit of his many clients. These successes have also resulted in Mr. Kahn’s wide recognition by the legal community. In June 2022, as a result of his $464.5 million verdict in the matter of Martinez et al. v. Southern California Edison Company et al., Mr. Kahn was named national “Trial Attorney of the Week” by ALM and Law.com, a national publication and website. In the years 2022 through 2024, Mr. Kahn has also been named a Super Lawyer, which is a distinction provided to only 5% of Southern California Attorneys. Earlier in his legal career, for five consecutive years from 2016 through 2020, Mr. Kahn had also been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, a distinction given to fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in California, all of whom are either under the age of 40 or have been practicing law for fewer than 10 years.
Mr. Kahn understands the far-reaching resources and power most corporations and employers possess. With this understanding, Mr. Kahn continues his commitment to providing his clients with the resources and legal representation necessary to level the playing field, achieve real justice and hold such employers accountable.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
