Chase Tajima is the Founder and Managing Partner of Tajima LLP, a Los Angeles boutique litigation firm representing businesses, business owners, founders, executives, investors, and other sophisticated clients in significant California disputes. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court and in commercial arbitration, personally leading matters from pre-litigation strategy through discovery, dispositive motions, trial, and arbitration.
His practice includes partnership, shareholder, and corporate-control disputes; breach-of-contract claims, including unpaid invoices and other business-payment disputes; business fraud and fiduciary-duty claims; trade-secret, unfair-competition, and business-interference matters; executive and employment disputes; professional-liability claims; and disputes involving substantial financial or reputational risk. Tajima LLP is particularly suited to complex matters in which approximately $300,000 to $10 million is at stake, while considering larger disputes when the cost efficiencies and direct senior attention of a boutique are a compelling fit.
Many matters are entirely domestic. Others are California disputes with an Asia-Pacific nexus involving parties, ownership, transactions, communications, evidence, witnesses, infrastructure, or assets connected to Japan, China, Korea, Singapore, Southeast Asia, Hawaii, or Guam. Tajima LLP serves as California litigation and related commercial-arbitration counsel; qualified local counsel is engaged when separate advice or proceedings are required in another jurisdiction.
Clients work directly with experienced senior attorneys through a focused, leanly staffed team. Mr. Tajima has obtained multi-million-dollar arbitration awards and settlements, emergency and other injunctive relief, dismissals, and favorable trial and pretrial resolutions. Earlier in his career, he practiced complex civil litigation in Los Angeles and Honolulu. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
