Attorney Information

Overview

Since 2001, Craig S. Pedersen has exclusively defended the rights of his clients in family law cases. As a partner at Meyer, Olson, Lowy & Meyers, LLP, he has worked on larger litigation teams and has served as lead trial counsel. Some of the family law cases he has worked on include child support, domestic violence, property division and spousal support. Now, he primarily works on high-asset cases involving divorce and custody in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.

Mr. Pedersen completed his Bachelor of Arts at Azusa Pacific University in 1991. Three years later, he earned his law degree at Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. In 1994, he was admitted to The State Bar of California. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Southern and Central Districts of California.

Whenever Mr. Pedersen takes on a family law case, he has two main goals. The first goal involves working his hardest to get his clients the outcomes they seek. The second goal is to provide the best possible representation he can. He considers himself the envoy between the courts and his clients. He listens carefully to the concerns of his clients so he can become their greatest advocates in court and during negotiations.

Mr. Pedersen has earned his fair share of praises for his work. For example, from 2017 to 2018, the Family Law Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association presented him with an award of recognition for service as co-chair. He has also invested in the next generation of lawyers. In 2013, he served on the Loyola Law School Alumni Association board of governors.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
