Mr. Kaufman has earned a national reputation as a distinguished trial lawyer emphasizing cutting edge internet litigation, state and federal criminal defense and complex business disputes. Mr. Kaufman represents individuals and corporations large and small in state and federal courts and before administrative and regulatory agencies. He has successfully litigated hundreds of civil disputes across the United States and into Canada, including multi-million dollar trials, arbitrations and mediations. In addition, Mr. Kaufman has successfully challenged and defended complex federal appeals, including new and novel Internet issues.

Mr. Kaufman’s criminal practice similarly covers a wide range of areas, such as cases involving RICO allegations, public corruption, multi-million dollar insurance fraud, pharmaceutical fraud, money laundering, tax fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, first-degree murder, federal drug and conspiracy charges, and Internet crimes.

Mr. Kaufman’s extensive trial experience, combined with his work as a Judge Pro Tem and mediator, allows him to formulate an aggressive litigation strategy designed to efficiently and effectively achieve his clients’ goals. Mr. Kaufman is never happier than when he is in the courtroom and is always prepared for trial on any matter.

After receiving his J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 1980, Mr. Kaufman was immediately admitted to the California State Bar.

Mr. Kaufman is admitted to practice in all California State Courts; the United States District Court for the Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of California; the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Sixth Circuits; and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. Mr. Kaufman has also been admitted to a number of jurisdictions pro hac vice, including State and Federal court in Arizona and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Western District of Washington, Northern District of Alabama, Northern District of Georgia, Eastern District of Missouri, District of New Mexico, Middle District of Florida, District of Nevada, District of Massachusetts, and Western District of Wisconsin.
