Overview
Attorney Gohar Fayyaz joined Kashfian & Kashfian, LLP to provide clients of the firm counsel with regard to general complex litigation matters, intellectual property controversies, as well as prosecutions. Mr. Fayyaz's area of expertise is complex discovery disputes in the forum of large scale litigation, including e-discovery. Upon completion of high school, Mr. Fayyaz promptly and proudly joined the Unites States Army. After finishing three years of distinguished service, he returned to academia and received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science summa cum laude from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Fayyaz has held numerous managerial positions with companies in the field of information technology; including, a broadband service provider and a German-based company specializing in resource-intensive medical imaging technology in the United States.
Mr. Fayyaz then moved to Los Angeles, California where he completed his Juris Doctorate at Southwestern Law School's competitive and prestigious, two-year SCALE Program. While in law school and immediately thereafter, Mr. Fayyaz worked as an extern at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office (civil division) with distinction.
Mr. Fayyaz is admitted to practice before the state courts in California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Fayyaz is also a Registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Relying on his experience in the field of information technology and computer science, Mr. Fayyaz has served as a litigation consultant with a number of prominent national law firms, assisting in litigation involving cutting-edge and complex issues, such as: scope of trade secrets in semiconductor manufacturing and intellectual property in open source software technology.
