Harold Papineau - Los Angeles, CA

Harold Papineau is an Partner in the firm’s entertainment department where his practice covers a wide range of transactional entertainment, media and intellectual property matters. In addition to his work on traditional music industry deals, Mr. Papineau has extensive experience in selling music catalogs and is at the forefront of the firm’s US copyright termination practice.

Mr. Papineau earned his law degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California. While in law school, Mr. Papineau worked full-time as a paralegal at KHPS. At Southwestern Law, Mr. Papineau was named a Biederman Scholar for his excellence in academic achievement. In addition, he was awarded CALI Excellent for the Future Awards in Entertainment Law, IP Licensing, Entertainment Law Seminar, Criminal Procedure, Torts and Remedies, and the Witkin Award For Academic Excellence in Trademark Law, Information Privacy Law and Constitutional Law II. His academic success culminated in the honor of graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Mr. Papineau received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut, where he majored in History. After college, he moved with his rock band to Los Angeles. After a decade of extensive touring with the band and independently releasing three albums, Mr. Papineau took a job at Warner Music Group in the Copyright and Licensing department, eventually serving as the Sr. Manager of West Coast Licensing. After eight years at Warner, Mr. Papineau joined KHPS as a paralegal.

Mr. Papineau was admitted to the California bar in 2021.
