Overview
Jesse believes that preparation, good judgment and meticulous attention to detail are essential to successful litigation. He developed his abilities to successfully advocate at UCLA School of Law, where he was a Florence Virginia Wilson Scholar and Editor-in-Chief of the UCLA Pacific Basin Law Journal.
Prior to joining Cheong, Denove, Rowell & Bennett, Jesse completed a fellowship with the American Board of Trial Advocates. As a fellow, he experienced all aspects of civil litigation during placements with John F. Denove, Louis E. De Hass (La Follette, Johnson, De Hass, Fesler and Ames), and the Honorable Daniel Buckley (Los Angeles Superior Court). Jesse also gained valuable trial experience during clerkships with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Alongside senior prosecutors he achieved a flawless record, which included victories in People v. Renya and People v. Coronado.
Jesse graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. in economics and political science. During his studies at UNM, he received three notable awards: the Mercer Speaking Scholarship (for winning UNM’s public speaking competition), the Clauve Award (for demonstrating outstanding leadership and maintaining an excellent academic record) and the Harry S. Truman Scholarship (for nationally significant academic achievement and public service). Before these awards, he placed in the finals of the National Forensic League's debate tournament.
As a lawyer with Cheong, Denove, Rowell & Bennett , Jesse brings his firm commitment to excellence. Outside of work, he volunteers as a UCLA Student Mentor and is on the Board of the of the Western Center on Law and Poverty. he is also active in a variety of organizations, including the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles Education Committee Mentor (CAALA), the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), the Italian American Lawyers Association (IALA), and the UCLA Law Alumni Association.
