Overview

Michele C. Nielsen received her J.D. in 2016 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. She also served on the UCLA Law Review and the UCLA Entertainment Law Review. Michele has published two pieces in the UCLA Law Review: (1) Mute and Moot: How Class Action Mootness Procedure Silences Inmates, 63 UCLA L. Rev. 760 (2016), and (2) Beyond PREA: An Interdisciplinary Framework for Evaluating Sexual Violence in Prisons, 64 UCLA L. Rev. 230 (2017). Additionally, she received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Princeton University with honors. Prior to joining the firm, Michele was a litigation associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. In prior positions, she was responsible for creating a Public Defender Secondment Program as part of an effort to combat systemic racism, as well as working towards diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession through various committees and initiatives. Michele also clerked for the Honorable Jacqueline H. Nguyen on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Before law school, Michele worked at Estate Plan, Inc. in Laguna Beach, California.

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
