Overview
Nora is an Associate in Brock & Gonzales’ Employment Law Department. She has a deep passion for representing employees who have suffered injustice in the workplace. Prior to joining Brock & Gonzales, Nora represented plaintiffs in single-plaintiff FEHA and wrongful termination claims, as well as class and PAGA actions. Prior to completing her second year of practice, she had already served as second chair in two arbitrations, representing employees in wage and hour disputes against their former employers.
During law school, Nora served as an extern for the Honorable Judge Jacqueline Scott-Corley in the United States District Court, Northern District of California. She worked as a law student attorney in the Individual Representation Clinic, representing four individuals in wage and hour disputes against their employers, where she secured favorable judgments or settlements for all four clients in one semester. She also volunteered with the Employment Rights Clinic, where she gained valuable skills reviewing and assessing client intakes to provide free legal advice to low-income California employees.
Nora was born and raised in Oakland, California. She is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound and the University of California, San Francisco, School of Law (formerly known as UC Hastings).
Nora is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association. She is admitted to the State Bar of California. In her free time, she enjoys taking long walks in the Bay Area with her dog, cheering on her local basketball team, painting, and listening to sports and recap podcasts.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
