Yi-Hsuan Rachel Lin is an experienced civil litigation attorney in various practice areas, including commercial fraud, contractual dispute, and other business related litigation. She also has substantial experience in a variety of employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases against private and public employers in state and federal courts. She also represents whistleblowers under the California Labor Code, federal False Claims Act, and other equivalent state acts. Her work includes all aspects of case management including drafting pleadings and motion papers (including oppositions to motions for summary judgment and motions to compel discovery), arguing motions in state and federal courts, handling written discovery, taking and defending lay and expert depositions, negotiating in mediations, and preparing for trial/arbitration. She also drafted successful writs of mandate filed with the California Court of Appeal. Rachel takes pride in advocating on behalf of her clients and has obtained successful results for her clients.
Rachel earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Southwestern Law School in 2015. She externed for the Honorable Goodwin Liu at the California Supreme Court, the Honorable Dean Pregerson at the Central District Court of California, and at the ACLU of Southern California. Rachel was a member of the Southwestern Moot Court Honors Program. She, as the brief writer, represented Southwestern to compete in the Bryant-Moore Civil Rights Moot Court Competition and received the “Best Brief Award” and “Best Overall Team Award.” Before law school, Rachel worked as a litigation law clerk in a civil litigation law firm for 7 years, which experience inspired her to earn a juris doctor degree.
Rachel volunteers at pro bono legal clinics with Neighborhood Legal Services and Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.
