Attorney Information

Overview

Samuel Almon has deep experience litigating complex matters in state and federal court. Samuel helps people who have been harmed by their employers, representing workers in a wide variety of employment cases, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination lawsuits. Samuel also represents employees and independent contractors in class actions against employers that fail to comply with worker protection laws, such as wage and hour statutes.

In addition to representing workers, Samuel devotes much of his practice to representing plaintiffs in legal malpractice cases, upholding the standards of the legal profession while holding accountable lawyers who have harmed their clients. Previously, Samuel practiced at several large national and international law firms, where he primarily represented companies in complex, high-stakes lawsuits involving issues such as trade secrets, noncompete agreements, restrictive covenants, securities class actions, fraud claims, and financial services disputes.

Samuel has significant experience litigating appeals and has represented clients before federal and state appellate courts across the country. Early in his career, Samuel completed a federal appellate clerkship for the Hon. Stanley F. Birch, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

In his pro bono practice, Samuel was appointed by a federal court to serve as appellate counsel for the plaintiff in a civil rights lawsuit against a for-profit prison. Although the trial court had dismissed the case, Samuel won the appeal and the case was allowed to proceed. Samuel has also represented developmentally disabled individuals in a federal civil rights class action challenging a state policy of segregation based on disability, represented indigent tenants of a slum housing complex, and represented a mother in the adoption of her foster child.

Samuel graduated from University of Chicago Law School in 2004, where he received the Edmund A. Spencer scholarship. He received his B.B.A., cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2001. He is licensed to practice law in California, Georgia, and Massachusetts (inactive status).
