Tyler Garber - Los Angeles, CA

Tyler Garber is a music and entertainment attorney in the firm’s Entertainment Department. She represents recording artists, producers, songwriters and other creative talent in transactional matters spanning the creation, financing, distribution, licensing and exploitation of music and related content.

Ms. Garber’s practice includes recording and distribution agreements, music publishing and songwriter agreements, producer, mixer and featured artist agreements, music licensing and clearances, touring and live performance agreements, management agreements, and endorsement and brand partnerships. She also advises clients on royalties and accounting, catalog and ownership matters, rights clearances, settlements and other business and contractual matters arising throughout their careers. Ms. Garber works closely with artists and their management and business teams and regularly negotiates with major and independent record labels, music publishers, distributors, brands and other entertainment industry participants.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Garber worked in the Film Music department at Universal Pictures. She earned her J.D. through Southwestern Law School’s accelerated two-year SCALE Program, where she was a Dean’s Fellow and lead law clerk for the Entertainment and Media Law Clinic, and also gained experience at Davis Wright Tremaine and Universal Music Publishing Group. Before law school, Ms. Garber taught mathematics in Philadelphia as a Teach For America corps member while earning her master’s degree in urban education from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College, where she majored in Sociology and minored in Education and Mathematics.

In her spare time, Ms. Garber enjoys spending time with family and friends, discovering new music, gardening, traveling, hiking and attending concerts.
