Customer Reviews for The Law Office of Joseph C. Girard
-
Hired Law firm 2025-2026I was referred to Mr. Girard by a coworker, and after meeting him and his team, I was extremely pleased with my experience. He is very knowledgeable and was incredibly helpful in assisting my dad with qualifying for Medi-Cal, as well as planning for his future care. I had many questions and wasn't always sure what to expect, but Mr. Girard and his team--Caren, Walt, and Cash--guided me through every step with patience and clarity. They truly made a complex process feel manageable. I am very grateful for their support and now feel reassured that my dad is being properly cared for.

Consulted Law firm 2023Joseph C. Girard is a liar who says whatever you want to hear to get your retainer. His whole office is shady and unprofessional. Call anywhere else but here unless you and your elder like being gaslight just to take your money. It should be a crime what he does taking advantage of the elderly population and exploiting them and their families in their elder years

Hired Law firm 2015-2024LIAR! If his lips are moving he's lying. Joe Girard serves the city not the client. You pay Joe Girard to hand over your assets back to the gov't. Shocking right? While your assets are stripped away and you go into debt with sky high legal bills Joe Girard will be vacationing on the desperate money you trusted him with to help yourself or your loved one. If your even considering Girard Law you've already lost

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
