Hali Bushman - Newport Beach, CA

Hali Bushman is an attorney admitted to practice in California. Ms. Bushman received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola University New Orleans, where she graduated with cum laude honors. While at the university, she was on the Dean's List, part of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society. She received her Juris Doctor from New England Law in Boston, Massachusetts. She received the merit-based Portia Merit Scholarship throughout the duration of her law school studies and her academic success was recognized placing Ms. Bushman on the Dean's List. Ms. Bushman also received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Negotiation which recognizes law students based on their studies and is awarded to the student with the highest grade in the class.

Ms. Bushman began her professional legal experience as a student intern in New England Law's Mediation Clinic. At the mediation clinic, Ms. Bushman received hands-on experience attending initial conferences administered by an Administrative Law Judge, and conferences/seminars presented by The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and Way Finders (Way Finders serves as the regional Housing Consumer Education Center). Ms. Bushman gained a strong foundation in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) during her clinic work and her skills were honed further through her fieldwork at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). As an EEOC ADR intern, Ms. Bushman coordinated mediation services, led negotiation conferences, and helped parties in both the public and private sectors evaluate and resolve charges of employment discrimination. During this time, Ms. Bushman analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of claims under Title VII, ADA, and ADEA, evaluated effective and realistic approaches to discrimination issues, and advised both represented and pro se parties.

By virtue of her work at the New England Law Mediation Clinic and as an EEOC ADR intern, Ms. Bushman learned how to conduct complicated, legal issues in a collaborative environment, and the value of mediation as an alternative to litigation.

Most recently, Ms. Bushman was a legal intern for a sole practitioner located in San Bernadino County, California. This solo practice was active in various areas including bankruptcy, real estate, and family law matters. In this role, Ms. Bushman performed legal and factual research, drafted letters, prepared legal memoranda, and varying correspondence pertaining to relevant legal issues and client inquiries.

In addition to her legal career, Ms. Bushman also has experience as the founder and owner of an e-commerce store with a focus on sustainable fashion. Ms. Bushman gained invaluable customer service insight providing a tailored consumer experience and significant experience dealing with third party businesses and organizations.
