Attorney Information
Overview
Sack Rosendin Inc., is a female/minority-owned firm.
Managing Partner, Joanne Rosendin, was a seasoned litigator and trial attorney with over 30 years of litigation experience. She served as lead trial attorney in scores of cases involving products and premises liability, construction negligence, construction defects, personal injury and business litigation spanning over three decades, in addition to business transaction work involving contracts and residential and commercial leases. As a specialist in asbestos defense litigation, Ms. Rosendin supervised and managed hundreds of asbestos cases successfully to resolution throughout California on behalf of construction engineering companies, product manufacturers and suppliers, and premises owners. As National Coordinating Counsel for a major construction engineering firm, Ms. Rosendin implemented and coordinated the defense strategy for local asbestos counsel in numerous jurisdictions throughout the United States, ensuring that the nature and scope of information disseminated through discovery nationwide was consistent and accurate. As National Counsel, she established the strategic defense in hundreds of cases scattered throughout the country and set the parameters for reasonable settlement ranges and litigation costs.
Ms. Rosendin earned her J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1985 where she was recognized as a top oral advocate in the school’s inter-scholastic nationwide oral advocacy competition. She was a member of the State Bar of California, the San Francisco Bar Association, the Alameda County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Association of Defense Counsel, and she was licensed to practice in all of the state courts in California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts of the Northern, Central, Southern and Eastern Districts of California.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
